EWG

One of the first resources I discovered in my obsessive internet research was an amazing website called EWG. Their Skin Deep database lists a huge variety of products, lists their ingredients, and rates them based on their likelihood to cause you short- or long-term harm.

It's not the most user-friendly website in the world, but it works. You can search by brand, product name, or by a general category like "shampoo." Once you find a product, you can usually click on it and it will pull it up on Amazon. My only wish is that there were customer reviews of the products right there in the database; I spend a lot of time clicking back and forth between EWG and Amazon to find products that are safe and don't suck.
